Despite its abundance in the universe, helium is relatively rare on Earth. It is mainly obtained as a byproduct of natural gas extraction, where certain gas fields have high concentrations of helium. However, helium is a non-renewable resource, and its availability is a concern since it is difficult to produce artificially.
